This hands-on class introduces the fundamentals of working with epoxy resin for creative crafting. Participants will learn safety guidelines, mixing techniques, project prep, and how to create their first custom piece — such as a resin coaster, jewelry, or decorative tray.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will:

• Learn safe handling, mixing ratios, and curing times

• Identify the right tools, molds, and materials for different projects

• Add color, inclusions, and effects to resin crafts

  • What is epoxy resin? Types & common uses in crafts
  • Understanding part A (resin) and part B (hardener)
  • Essential safety practices: PPE, ventilation, skin protection
  • Tools & workspace setup
  • Demo: Measuring and mixing epoxy properly
  • Working with silicone molds, tape, and barriers
  • Adding colorants: mica powder, alcohol inks, glitter
  • Using dried flowers, wood, and small objects in resin
  • Pouring techniques: dirty pour, clear layer, swirls
  • Hands-on activity: Create your own resin coaster, charm, or art tile
  • Curing times, temperature control, and avoiding bubbles
  • Sanding, polishing, and finishing options
  • Troubleshooting common issues (sticky resin, bubbles, spills)
  • Care & maintenance of resin items
  • 2-part epoxy resin (craft-safe, low VOC)
  • Measuring cups, stir sticks, gloves, and drop cloths
  • Molds or project bases (coasters, keychains, art panels, etc.)
  • Colorants, glitters, dried flowers, small objects
  • Heat gun or torch for bubbles
  • Safety gear (gloves, goggles, apron) a mask is recommended but not needed for our epoxy
